Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Hydraulic Pump Technician to inspect, troubleshoot, repair, assemble, and test hydraulic pumps and associated components. The role requires practical knowledge of hydraulic systems, contamination control, precision assembly, and performance testing.
Responsibilities
- • Dismantle and inspect hydraulic pumps and motors to identify wear, damage, and failure causes.
- • Work on gear, vane, and piston pumps within the technician's training and experience.
- • Measure critical components and assess their condition against manufacturer specifications.
- • Prepare inspection findings and identify required replacement parts or repair work.
- • Assemble units using correct clearances, tightening procedures, and cleanliness controls.
- • Set up and conduct controlled performance tests using suitable test equipment.
- • Record pressure, flow, temperature, leakage, and other relevant test results.
- • Troubleshoot faults such as low output, excessive noise, overheating, and internal leakage.
- • Coordinate with machining and inspection teams where component restoration is required.
- • Maintain repair reports, test records, tools, and a clean assembly area.
Requirements
- • ITI, Diploma, or equivalent technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Hydraulics, or a related discipline.
- • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience repairing hydraulic pumps and motors.
- • Understanding of hydraulic circuits, pump operating principles, and common failure modes.
- • Ability to read hydraulic schematics, technical drawings, and manufacturer manuals.
- • Experience using precision measuring instruments and hydraulic test equipment.
- • Strong understanding of contamination control and safe depressurization.
- • Experience with multiple hydraulic equipment brands will be an advantage.
